Duties & Role:
The objective of this Statement of Work is to define the required services, expertise, and responsibilities for an Oracle E-Business Suite Database Administrator Consultant. The Consultant shall provide specialist support for the installation, upgrade, administration, maintenance, troubleshooting, performance tuning, and operational support of Oracle SaaS Applications and Oracle E-Business Suite and its associated Oracle Technology Stack.
Under the overall direction of the Service Owner and Service Delivery Manager, the incumbent will perform duties such as the following:
- Manage multiple Oracle installations on large-scale systems, with specific experience in Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.2 or higher and Oracle Database 19c or higher in Linux environments.
- Provide practical support for Oracle E-Business Suite and Oracle Database backup and recovery using RMAN, including configuration, sizing, space management, monitoring, patching, upgrades, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and administration.
- Apply expert knowledge of Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.2 or higher technical architecture, including database architecture, schemas, products, database objects, file system structures, tables, views, packages, procedures, functions, sequences, indexes, and constraints.
- Support IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS solutions delivered through VMware, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, Microsoft Azure, and Amazon Web Services platforms.
- Administer, configure, troubleshoot, and tune WebLogic Application Server, Forms services, Reports services, and Apache web server components.
- Implement and support advanced topology elements, including shared APPL_TOP, Oracle Clusterware, Real Application Clusters, Automatic Storage Management, Demilitarized Zones, and Disaster Recovery solutions.
- Implement and support advanced Oracle E-Business Suite security configurations, including networking components such as firewalls, web application firewalls, and load balancing.
- Use Oracle Enterprise Manager 13g or higher and Oracle Enterprise Manager Application Management Suite for Oracle E-Business Suite for monitoring, management, and operational support.
- Being responsible for the assigned business applications and services.
- Providing 2nd and 3rd line support to the assigned business applications, by responding to service requests, investigating and resolving incidents and problems, communicating solutions or advices to customers and users on changes and improvements based on best business practices.
- Contributing to the gathering, analysis, setup, design and documentation of new requirements and change requests.
- Developing and reviewing documentation such as requirements definitions, functional and technical design documents, systems specifications or other deliverables.
- Providing time estimates for the development and implementation of new requirements.
- Ensures full lifecycle tests of requests for change before they are presented to the user for user acceptance testing.
- Active contribution to relevant projects or service operation across Service Lines where integration is required.
- Participating/attending job-related conferences and trainings in order to keep the knowledge and expertise up-to-date.
- Providing briefings and presentations.
- Performing other duties as may be required.
Skills, Knowledge & Experience:
- The candidate must have a currently active NATO SECRET security clearance
- The Consultant must have a minimum of 15 years of recent practical experience as an Oracle E-Business Suite DBA. This experience must include a sustained period of performance of at least 60 months across the two most recent assignments, demonstrating hands-on responsibility for complex Oracle E-Business Suite environments.
- The Consultant must have performed duties including, but not limited to, installing, upgrading, patching, troubleshooting, tuning, and supporting Oracle E-Business Suite software and the associated Oracle Technology Stack in multi-tier, multi-node, and multi-platform environments. These environments may include database servers, application servers, web servers, concurrent processing servers, reports servers, forms servers, administration servers, and Discoverer servers.
