Duties and Role:
As part of day-to-day tasks, the contractor will work on (but not limited to):
- Supporting and maintaining core infrastructure services (including SharePoint, Active Directory, DNS, ADFS, etc.) across deployed environments.
- Assist with the deployment of new system baselines based on internal configuration and change control processes.
- Monitor performance and health of critical services, identifying issues before they impact users.
- Perform troubleshooting and maintenance for assigned infrastructure systems.
- Apply and validating security hardening policies (GPOs, baselines, patching) in coordination with the cybersecurity team.
- Collaborate with the centralized IT Service Desk for incident response, problem management, and change implementation.
- Document updates to system security settings, configuration changes, and procedures in clear, structured formats.
- Ensure that any task-related technical documentation is delivered in electronic format to meet agency compliance.
- Occasionally traveling to supported sites as part of on-site deployment, upgrade, or troubleshooting assignments
Skill, Knowledge & Experience:
- The candidate must have a currently active NATO SECRET security clearance
- Experience in managing core IT services (e.g. SharePoint, AD, DNS) in medium to large environments.
- Foundational or working knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint and ADFS (Active Directory Federation Services)
- Good understanding of DNS architecture and domain name resolution in enterprise environments.
- Hands-on experience or clear understanding of Active Directory administration, including users, groups, and organizational units.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Windows Server environments, including system configuration, patching, and basic security controls.
- Ability to create, troubleshoot, and apply Group Policy Objects (GPOs).
- Exposure to endpoint security tools such as McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator.
- Ability to provide Level 2/3 infrastructure support, including escalated troubleshooting, system monitoring and technical documentation.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
- Eagerness to learn, adapt, and contribute to a secure, high-performing IT environment.
- Familiarity with Windows Update Services, system patching strategies.
- Knowledge of virtualization tools such as VMware vSphere, VSAN, or Hyper-V.
- Understanding of server hardware (e.g., HP Blade servers, storage arrays) and networking fundamentals.
- Exposure to deployment tools like Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT) or Windows Autopilot.
- Basic knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, etc.) and how infrastructure components interact
