Duties & Role:
Under the direction of NSO OOX 0100, the incumbent will perform duties such as the following:
Data Entry Management
- Discusses data entry operations needs of major or primary clients.
- Identifies the types of data processed in the business unit.
- Describes the major activities of data entry staff.
- Names internal or external publications and sources of information.
- Participates in distribution network analysis and network modelling activities.
- Manages all aspects of one or more distribution centres.
- Continues to mechanize distribution centre activities.
- Explains and walks through a complete distribution centre network; participates in design.
- Assesses alternative distribution designs and considerations for demand and source locations.
- Implements tools for sharing inventory and distribution information with other computer systems.
- Coordinates daily work of inventory management for different locations within a facility or a supply network.
- Devises standard inventory management benchmarks to improve the processes.
- Ensures that the inventory is at an appropriate level and meets both internal and external requirements.
- Provides guidance on inventory management for a specific product group or location.
- Applies systems and processes to identify and coordinate inventory requirements; resolves conflicts.
- Reviews reports used for inventory management to find out related problems.
- Develops and analyses logistics plans that affect production, distribution, and inventory.
- Manages logistics processes through process improvement, prioritization, and project planning.
- Implements and maintains monitoring systems to provide information on shipment status, shipped date, in transit location, estimated arrival date, and actual delivery date.
- Works with historical, legislative and practical issues associated with domestic freight.
- Participates in contract negotiations and interfaces with selected carriers necessary to maintain expected levels of service.
- Consults on all major logistics processes, their interactions and operational requirements.
- Quantifies and evaluates benefits and risks of various supply chain strategies and approaches.
- Participates in joint planning, process design/redesign with clients and partners.
- Monitors the complete supply chain management process.
- Manages supply chain finance activities and measurements of effectiveness.
- Consults on supply chain network design projects or processes.
- Advises others on capacity issues at various points in the supply chain.
Skill, Knowledge & Experience:
- The candidate must have a currently active NATO SECRET security clearance
- Higher vocational training or secondary education.
- 3 years of experience in Supply, Logistics or Supply Chain Management or a secondary educational qualification with 5 years post-related experience
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) such as ERP oracle based systems
- Basic knowledge of safety protocols and equipment handling
