Duties & Role:
We are looking for a functional subject matter expert (SME) with extensive experience with the LOGFAS software suite, including practical military experience of Movement and Transportation planning and execution, and Logistics Reporting business processes.
The LOGFAS SME will typically work at NCIA in Mons, Belgium or at a customer's location in Germany. At the customer's location, the LOGFAS SME will provide on-site mentoring on the use of LOGFAS. This on-site mentoring will primarily be performed at a customer's location in Germany, but may also be required to be performed at related locations in NATO nations. Overall, the LOGFAS SME is expected to work up to half of the time at NCIA in Mons, Belgium, and the other half in Germany or related locations in NATO nations. All on-site work outside of NCIA in Mons, Belgium will be considered as Temporary Duty (TDY), and reimbursed according to NATO regulations.
This post is part of the team that provides application support services at the highest advanced support level. The LOGFAS SME provides application support, including on-the-job mentoring, but also works to improve how the services are delivered, operated and maintained. Overall, the team also consists of support engineers, software developers and other subject matter experts.
The incumbent will perform duties such as the following:
- Provide on-site and off-site on-the-job mentoring for users of LOGFAS.
- Participate in daily status update meetings, sprint planning, sprint retrospectives and other meetings, in person via electronic means.
- Participate in requirements elicitation, analysis and design discussions.
- Support bug fixing and stability improvements.
- Create and run test cases.
- Create and update documentation.
- Support users in the acceptance testing.
- Support the operations and maintenance of LOGFAS.
- Investigate the best ways to solve problems, including documenting and presenting pros and cons to the team.
- Perform other duties as required.
Skill, Knowledge & Experience:
- The candidate must have a currently active NATO SECRET security clearance
- Expert knowledge, as well as a working knowledge of and practical experience with the complete LOGFAS software suite.
- Practical military experience of the Movement and Transportation planning and execution, and Logistics Reporting business processes and the LOGFAS software to cover the tasks list under these duties.
- Expert knowledge of the governing NATO Logistics policy, Allied doctrine and ACO directives and procedures as well as extensive operational experience in NATO logistic processes necessary to address end-user requirements.
- Good knowledge of the NATO's Comprehensive Approach described in the Comprehensive Operations Planning Directive (COPD), deep understanding of NATO operations planning and related processes, information exchange requirements and interoperability standards to promote collaboration and information sharing using LOGFAS.
- Experience with testing software using technologies and methods to support the full software lifecycle.
- Proven ability to integrate and work in a multinational team.
- The ability to conduct all work in fluent business English.
