Duties & Role:  
  • Design and implement AWS cloud solutions to support business applications and services;
  • Build, configure, and maintain cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code principles;
  • Lead or support cloud migration projects from on-premises or legacy environments to AWS;
  • Implement and maintain cloud security controls, access management, encryption, and compliance requirements;
  • Monitor cloud environments to ensure availability, performance, reliability, and cost efficiency;
  • Troubleshoot and resolve cloud infrastructure incidents and service issues;
  • Develop automation scripts and deployment pipelines to improve operational efficiency and consistency;
  • Collaborate with development, infrastructure, security, and business teams to deliver cloud-based solutions;
  • Produce and maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, operational procedures, and support guides;
  • Conduct reviews and recommend improvements to cloud architecture, security posture, resilience, and operational processes;
  • Support disaster recovery planning, testing, and implementation activities;
  • Provide technical guidance and knowledge transfer to internal teams where required;
  • Stay informed of AWS best practices, emerging technologies, and service updates to ensure continuous improvement;
Requirements
Skills, Knowledge & Experience:
  • The candidate must have a currently active NATO SECRET security clearance
  • Strong hands-on experience designing, implementing, and supporting solutions within the Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud environment.
  • Proven experience with AWS core services including EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, RDS, Lambda, CloudWatch, Route 53, and AWS Backup;
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or CDK;
  • Knowledge of cloud networking, security architectures, identity and access management, and data protection best practices;
  • Experience implementing high-availability, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions;
  • Proficiency in automation and scripting;
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices using tools such as Azure DevOps;
  • Understanding of containerisation technologies including Docker and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes/EKS;
  • Experience in monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimising cloud infrastructure performance and costs;
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills;
  • Ability to work independently and engage effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders:
