Position Overview:
We're hiring a Manufacturing Engineer to strengthen our chemical production team in Florida. This role ensures the assigned unit operates with the highest standards of safety, reliability, and efficiency while delivering measurable improvements in productivity, quality, and cost performance.
The Manufacturing Engineer will monitor day-to-day operations, troubleshoot issues, optimize processes, and support long-term improvement strategies. By working closely with cross-functional partners, you will play a key role in driving operational excellence and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
 
Key Deliverables:

  • Build expertise as the go-to engineer for the assigned production area.
  • Gain a deep understanding of control systems and alarm strategies.
  • Identify improvement opportunities and develop actionable plans.
  • Foster collaboration across operations, engineering, reliability, planning, and quality teams.
Core Responsibilities:
  • Promote a zero-incident safety culture, ensuring compliance through best practices and team engagement.
  • Partner with Operations, Production, Process Engineering, Quality, and Reliability groups to align performance goals.
  • Apply Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to improve safety, cost, reliability, and quality outcomes.
  • Lead and maintain a strong pipeline of Six Sigma projects focused on productivity, safety, and quality.
  • Track and meet all KPI, budget, and forecast commitments.
  • Align production planning with sales order and inventory targets for efficiency.
  • Act as a technical resource in PHA (Process Hazard Analysis), LOPA (Layer of Protection Analysis), and FMEA (Failure Mode Effect Analysis).
  • Lead Management of Change (MOC) and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) processes.
  • Ensure consistent adherence to quality standards, including investigating and eliminating root causes of customer issues.
  • Coordinate with Maintenance and Operations to plan and execute outages safely.
  • Support cost-effective capital project development in partnership with Site Engineering.
  • Assist in implementing technology initiatives to achieve breakthrough performance.
Reporting Structure:
  • Reports directly to: Production Manager
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering(mandatory)
  • Minimum 4+ years of experience in chemical manufacturing post-graduation
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, SAP, and Minitab
Required Experience & Skills:
  • Proven ability to work effectively in self-directed teams
  • Commitment to plant safety, environmental, and industrial hygiene practices
  • Skilled in translating technical challenges into clear, actionable business impacts
  • Experience mentoring and coaching engineers
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Familiar with PFDs (Process Flow Diagrams) and P&IDs
  • Strong ownership mindset with a drive for innovation and system improvements
Preferred Certifications & Experience:
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification
  • Knowledge of PSM, ISO9001, and Title V regulations
  • Background in Hazard Recognition Plus (HRP) or similar safety programs
