Division: Executive Management
Mission: ICTM provides uninterrupted services for core NHQ activities and business continuity, ensures security of information and systems, and supports on-site and off-site high-level events. ICTM also contributes to the improvement of services and processes across NHQ, by identifying opportunities for innovation and implementing them. AIM within ICTM is at the heart of managing all of NATO's information, supporting decision-making process and preserving the Alliance's heritage. AIM's role is to provide convenient and seamless user experience in information and knowledge (IKM) technology and support the IS through the Cloud Adoption Journey. Through a structured roadmap, AIM provides uninterrupted access to essential IKM tools while safeguarding information and personal data. By maintaining security, accessibility, and productivity, AIM supports NATO's digital transformation.
Current context: In the context of NATO's Digital Transformation, ICTM leads the Cloud Adoption Journey for the International Staff at NATO Headquarters. This includes the migration of current structure and unstructured data to the Cloud. To achieve that, ICTM needs to develop a strategy and detailed plans on migrating data to the future Cloud environment.
NATO POC for supervision and coordination purposes: Head, Archives and Information Management Services
Objectives and scope of work: Officer Data Migration will support ICTM(AIM), by developing a strategy and detailed plans for the transfer of structured and unstructured data to NATO's future Cloud environment or data disposal in accordance with applicable NATO's policies.
Duties and Role:
- Prepare an inventory of structured and unstructured data.
- Develop a strategy outlining the scope, objective as well as the approaches to data migration and disposal in accordance with NATO's data, information and records policies.
- Based on the strategy develop a detailed data migration and disposal plan outlining the strategies for each data set recorded in the data inventory.
- Based on the above-mentioned detailed plan develop a project plan outlining timelines, roles and responsibilities;
- Support the Head AIM with promoting the plan within the IS and ensuring sufficient management support.
- Identify opportunities for internal processes optimization and improvement when it comes to data retention in the future Cloud environment,
- Preparation of status reports, presentations and briefings as required.
Skill, Knowledge & Experience:
- The candidate must have a currently active NATO SECRET security clearance
- Minimum 5 years' experience in the domains of data migration projects
- Minimum of 3 year's experience in the following domains:
- Awareness of data, information and records management standards, in particular with regard to data retention and disposal;
- Awareness of Digital Transformation domains and their challenges;
- Experience working with stakeholders in different domains, functions and organisational levels;
- Analytic skills, including the excellent written communication skills in English;
- Proven experience in developing strategic, project and implementation plans and conducting meetings and presentations;
- Good social awareness and experience of dealing with international cultures.
- At least Bachelor level in Data or Information Management, ICT or related areas.
- Knowledge of project management such as Prince 2, etc.
- Knowledge of Service Management including ITIL 3 and/or 4;
- Knowledge of and experience with Digital Transformation programs, particularly Cloud Adoption/transition programs
- Possess the following minimum levels of NATO's official languages (English): V ("Advanced") in one; I ("Beginner") in French.
